"Give, and it will be given to you. A
good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured
into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
(Lk 6:38)
In the
same statement Jesus taught us two things essential to life: Generosity and
Trust.
Only is possible to give when
you trust.
Human nature drives us to save, to keep - even the useless things - for the bad day. Only those who trust that there will be no shortages is able to distribute with a gladly heart.
Those
who lives like that believe that the just shall live only by faith, not by
their possessions. And so, having peace as arbitrator in the heart, the act of
sharing becomes a joy and a privilege in the life.
Those that understands this grace, will not
receive any kind of “heavenly farm” as payment, but the satisfaction of being
able to satisfy the hunger and thirst of his fellow, for there is no greater
good for a fallen man than realizing that their selfishness was extinguished by
a sovereign action of the Holy Spirit.
Yes, "get 100 times
more" is to fill up life with values, because there is no greater treasure
than the transformation of human being.
